Humble Beginnings

It all begins with an idea. Then it turns into reality.

Ever since I was a child I loved creating things. Whether it was coloring or diy’ing, creating always brought me joy and relaxation.

During the events of 2020, joy was something I found myself desperately needing. So I turned to clay. At first I made little trinket dishes from air dry clay. But then I discovered clay earrings one day on Instagram and was so taken with how customizable you can make them. I bought a pack of polymer clay (which was VERY hard to find) and some notions and tried my hand at making my first pair. Using a cup as my roller and a bottle cap as my shape cutter, I created something that was pretty far from an earring. Over the next few months I invested in the right supplies, watched a lot of videos, and just kept practicing to gain that motor learning component.

Fast forward to July of 2021. I was creating all of these earrings and I didn’t have anywhere to put them. My husband casually said one day, “Why don’t you create a business out of this?” I thought he was crazy. It was something I had wanted to do, but the reality of it and the potential for failure was daunting. But I didn’t like the idea of not trying. So I launched my business and crossed my fingers. One year later we have almost 500 of y’all in the Ash & Palm Co. community! I’m so thankful for this relationship and I can’t wait to see where we head next.
